They Shoot Horses, Don't They? is a seven-member band from Vancouver BC Canada. A three piece horn section in combination with and off-kilter blown speaker organ oohmpa creates a sound that is often described as marching bandy, while others hear a drunken mariachi fiesta freak-out, but then again the next guy is hearing a bunch of Louisiana hillbillies playing klezmer music at a circus (to avoid redundancy I edited out all the "on acid" from the above > descriptions). But hey! We're just trying to play Rock and Roll!!! 2004 saw the release of a self-titled four song EP, a couple of mini-tours down the west coast, and the composing and performing of music for the production Ziggurat by the Vancouver circus/theatre ensemble Leaky Heaven. 2005 was devoted to the recording of the full-length album Boo Hoo Hoo Boo (to be released on Kill Rock Stars in February 2006) and a Coast-to-Coast tour. Look forward to a US and Canadian tour in the spring of 2006.
